MPC sticks on the Bank of England base rate in March 2007

The Bank of England announced interest rates would stay at 5.25 per cent today. The move to hold rates was widely predicted and was welcomed by property experts. The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), sets interest rates to try and keep inflation as close to the government's two per cent target as possible.
